'Fire Safety Week' : Fire fighters conduct mock drill in Civil hospital, organise blood donation camp at fire brigade headquarters 

In a bid to spread awareness among residents regarding fire safety, the fire brigade conducted a mock drill at the civil hospital on the second day of 'Fire Safety Week' on Monday.

Ludhiana, April 15, 2024: In a bid to spread awareness among residents regarding fire safety, the fire brigade conducted a mock drill at the civil hospital on the second day of 'Fire Safety Week' on Monday.

The firefighters also organised a blood donation camp at the fire brigade headquarters near Railway Station and fire firefighters donated around 25 units of blood for the needy persons.

Assistant Divisional Fire Officer (ADFO) Maninder Singh said that 'Fire Safety Week' is being observed on the directions of Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi and different activities/mock drills will be held during the entire week to spread awareness among the residents regarding fire safety. 

Singh said that during the mock drill at the civil hospital, fire fighters apprised the officials/staff of precautions which they need to take, if any fire incident is reported in the hospital premises or in their private properties. 

The staffers were also apprised about different categories of fire incidents including those involving flammable liquids, combustible material etc. The staff members were also apprised of the procedure to operate the fire extinguishers. The employees were also apprised about the steps which can be taken to ensure their safety and the safety of their colleagues in case any fire incident is reported in the building.

ADFO Singh said that Fire Safety Week would be observed till April 20 and mock drills at public places/hospitals, awareness drives, essay writing competitions in schools/educational institutes etc would be held for spreading awareness among residents in the coming days.
