FICO gives mixed reaction over Railway Budget 2015-16

Ludhiana, February 26, 2015: Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisations (FICO) chairman K.K.Seth and president Gurmeet Singh Kular reacting to Railway Budget for current fiscal (2015-16) have welcomed the decision regarding completion of fright corridor.
In a statement here today, they added the deicison would give a boost to the industry.
However, they opposed the hike in freight on Iron and steel, coal and urea stating that already diesel prices were slashed so government should not increase the freight.
“We are expecting that government will focus on Ludhiana because it is a major industrial town of India that needs two more Shatabadi from Ludhiana to Delhi (morning/ evening)”, they said.
They added Ludhiana already have a very poor air connectivity. They pointed out that Railway can generate huge revenue on this route. They urged upon the government to review on the demand.
