Faculty of Visual Arts Celebrates ‘Diwali Sangam’ with Colours, Culture, and Creativity

Rohtak, October 16, 2025: The Faculty of Visual Arts at DLC State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) came alive today with the vibrant spirit of Diwali Sangam Celebration - a day filled with colour, creativity, and cultural harmony. Students, faculty members, and staff came together to celebrate the festival of lights through performances, art, and community expression.

The central courtyard of the University glowed with joy and illumination as students presented a series of lively performances, including folk, contemporary, and fusion dances, alongside soulful singing renditions that captured the festive spirit of Diwali.

A special Diya Lighting Ceremony was conducted to mark the occasion, led by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, in the presence of Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha and HOD Visual Arts, Vinay Kumar. The ceremony symbolized the triumph of light over darkness and the unity of creativity and culture within the university community.

Adding to the festivity, students set up a range of vibrant stalls showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit - featuring face painting, handmade accessories, wall hangings, decorative pieces, snacks counters, and a games parlor. The event beautifully reflected the university’s ethos of merging artistic learning with real-world engagement.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said, “Diwali at DLC SUPVA is more than a festival - it’s a celebration of our shared light. The students of Visual Arts have once again shown how creativity can bring people together, spreading joy and reflection through every colour, rhythm, and smile.”

Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty, saying, “Events like Diwali Sangam reaffirm the University’s belief in learning through experience and collaboration. It’s wonderful to see our students channel their creative energy into something that brings happiness to the entire campus.”

HOD Visual Arts, Vinay Kumar, remarked, “Diwali Sangam has been a reflection of the artistic soul of our students. From visual art installations to cultural performances, they have turned the campus into a living canvas of light, colour, and celebration.”

The evening concluded with prasad, laughter, lights, and camaraderie - a perfect expression of the festival’s essence, uniting art, tradition, and togetherness in the heart of the varsity.
