Ludhiana, November 23, 2023: The Department of Microbiology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a guest lecture on “Career Opportunities in Basic Sciences” under ICAR-1 grant for strengthening and development of higher education in India.
Vimal Bhutani, Founder, Biotech Sapiens, delivered a talk, highlighting the avenues open for the students after M.Sc in Life Sciences. He emphasized the importance of appearing in competitive exams to avail prestigious fellowships. Besides, Bhutani enlightened the students with the format of the type of questions, asked in Aptitude test and Subject specific parts of different Entrance examinations including CSIR-UGC, DBT, ICMR, etc.
Dr Urmila Gupta, Principal Scientist (REE)-cum-Head Department of Microbiology, appreciated the informative talk delivered by the speaker.
Dr Priya Katyal, Chairperson Teaching Committee of the department, proposed a vote of thanks.
Dr Pradeep Kumar Chhuneja, Dean, Postgraduate Studies and Dr Shammi Kapoor, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, congratulated the department for taking this initiative for the benefit of students.
