EOC-cell-PwDs and UGC-HRDC PU organized Training Programme
Equal opportunity cell Person with disabilities (EOC-cell-PwDs) and UGC-HRDC Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a one-day Training Programme for staff, faculty and students on 18th November.

Chandigarh, November 19, 2022: Equal opportunity cell Person with disabilities (EOC-cell-PwDs) and UGC-HRDC Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a one-day Training Programmefor staff, faculty and students on 18th November. The program was open to the university staff, teachers and students. Dr. Jayanti Dutta, Deputy Director, HRDC was the speaker along with Ms. Rimpi and Dr. Ramesh Kataria, coordinator, EOC- cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Approximately 50 representatives from various department attended the event. The session started with the informative presentation by Dr. Jayanti Dutta based on various narratives of the representation of disability through Hindi cinema. She highlighted the significance and need for such awareness programmes among society. She encouraged to adopt an inclusive approach for PWDs to get better results. Rimpi shared her personal and work experience to encourage the focus on solutions rather than issues. She gave various opinions about providing cost-effective academic resources and infrastructure for the welfare of disabled students. Dr. Ramesh Kataria shared his thoughts on the progress of EOC-cell for PWDs, RPWD act 2016. He told EOC-cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh was founded in April 2017 and is continuously working for providing the facilities and inclusive environment to PWDs.The event was very interactive by the active participation of the speaker with audience. Discussion session was kept at the end to resolve all the queries and doubts. Suggestions were taken from visually impaired students. The end of event was by the vote of thanks given by Dr. Neelima Dhingra, Co-coordinators, EOC-cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
