Chandigarh, May 12, 2023: The eighth volume of Panjab Journal of Sikh Studies, published by Panjab University came online today. This volume is dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Bhai Vir Singh. There are 14 articles in English and 10 in Punjabi. The contributors come from varied disciplines like history, Punjabi, social work, human rights and archaeology.
The themes of the papers are: drug use and it’s impact, emergence of Punjabi drama, the Rahitnama: a manual for the Sikh way of life, Bhai Vir Singh, Shaikh Nizamuddin Auliya, an analysis of two earliest novels in colonial Punjab: Bhagyavati and Sundari etc.
