Effective implementation of schemes will form the foundation of rural development's success: HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan

Nilokheri, July 14, 2026: We must understand the mainstream of change. Merely executing tasks is no longer sufficient; creating high-quality assets must be our goal. Technical monitoring of every development project has become more robust than ever before. The effective implementation of schemes will serve as the foundation for the success of rural development. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), Nilokheri, expressed these views while addressing participants during a three-day training program.

The program focused on the GIS-based monitoring of Gram Panchayats using the 'Yuktdhara' platform under the 'VB-G RAM G' initiative. Program Coordinator Kamaldeep Sangwan welcomed Dr. Chauhan by presenting a bouquet and a memento. Participants from various development blocks of Sirsa and Jind districts are enthusiastically taking part in the program.

HIRD Director, Dr. Chauhan stated that under the 'VB-G RAM G' initiative, a planned annual action plan would be prepared, and its effective implementation ensured. He emphasized that this goal could only be achieved through the dedication and teamwork of all officers and staff, combined with the effective use of technology. He urged the participants to strive for excellence in every field, aiming for a perfect score of 100 out of 100 in their performance.

He noted that the training aims to strengthen the scientific and technical monitoring of development works in Gram Panchayats, ensure effective asset management, and build the capacity of participants for the effective implementation of schemes.

Parvez Jafar from the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, remarked that the nation's development is linked to the development of Panchayats. He highlighted the importance of technology-based planning, GIS-based monitoring, and the use of modern technologies in empowering Gram Panchayats. Program Coordinator Kamaldeep Sangwan explained that during this three-day program, participants are receiving practical training in GIS-based planning, asset mapping, technical monitoring, and the effective use of the 'Yuktdhara' portal.

Dr. Sushil Mehta from HIRD; Gurvinder Singh (Consultant) from the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad; Anu Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Raveena, and Rekha; as well as participants from the Sirsa and Jind districts were present on this occasion. Describing the training as extremely useful, the participants termed it a significant initiative towards improving the quality of development works in Gram Panchayats.
