Dolphin PG College Celebrates World Radiography Day Focus on Patient Safety and Ethical Radiology Practices
The Department of Radio Medical Imaging Technology (RMIT) at Dolphin PG College celebrated World Radiography Day under the chairmanship of Dr. Vinod Mittal. The academic session centered around the theme “Patient Radiation Safety & Ethics in Radiology Practice,” emphasizing the importance of ethical and safe radiological practices in modern healthcare.
Mohali, November 13, 2025: The Department of Radio Medical Imaging Technology (RMIT) at Dolphin PG College celebrated World Radiography Day under the chairmanship of Dr. Vinod Mittal. The academic session centered around the theme “Patient Radiation Safety & Ethics in Radiology Practice,” emphasizing the importance of ethical and safe radiological practices in modern healthcare.
The event was graced by Dr. Shaurya Kaushal, Head of Department, Radiodiagnosis, Amar Hospital, Mohali, as the Guest Speaker. Er. Vibhav Mittal (Vice-Chairman) attended as Guest of Honour, along with Dr. Malkit Singh (Dean Academics). The program was organized under the leadership of Aadil Rasheed , Head of the Department (RMIT), while Balwinder Kumar Thapa, Associate Professor (RMIT), welcomed the dignitaries and students.
Dr. Shaurya Kaushal shared valuable insights on technological advancements and ethical considerations in radiology, highlighting the evolving role of radiographers in ensuring patient safety. The celebration featured scientific sessions, poster presentations, cultural performances, and a valedictory ceremony.
Ten students presented posters on topics including CT, MRI, radiation safety, and protective devices. The expert panel evaluated the posters, and winners were felicitated for their excellence.
The event also commemorated the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in November 1895, a milestone that revolutionized medical diagnostics. In his concluding address, Dr. Malkit Singh extended heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest, management, faculty, and students for their contribution in making the program a grand success.
