DLC SUPVA Launches Two-Day ‘Students Creator Workshop’ to Nurture Digital Storytellers

Rohtak October 8, 2025: A two-day ‘Students Creator Workshop’ commenced today at the Faculty of Architecture, Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), under the aegis of the Department of Students’ Welfare (DSW). The event, organized by the Public Media Tech Foundation (PMTF), is designed to help students explore creative storytelling, digital content production, and the evolving world of new media technologies.

The workshop was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya in the presence of Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Ajay Kaushik, Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik, and Head, Department of Students’ Welfare, Sh. Vinay Kumar, along with senior faculty members, students, and representatives of PMTF.

Inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Amit Arya said that the creative landscape of education is rapidly transforming, and universities must prepare students to adapt to the new ecosystem where art, technology, and communication converge.

“This initiative reflects DLC SUPVA’s broader vision to make every student a self-sufficient creator. In an era where ideas travel faster than institutions, our students must learn to communicate meaningfully, use technology responsibly, and express their individuality through creative media. Workshops like these not only build digital competence but also instil a culture of curiosity, innovation, and collaboration — essential traits for tomorrow’s creative leaders,” he said.

He further added that such interdisciplinary initiatives highlight the university’s unique approach of blending creative practice with technological literacy and social awareness.

The first day of the workshop featured immersive sessions conducted by PMTF trainers and media professionals. Students were introduced to concepts such as finding one’s voice as a storyteller, basics of video shooting and composition, mobile editing tools, content ideation, and cultural storytelling techniques. Participants were also guided through hands-on exercises where they developed short video stories and micro-documentaries around campus life and social themes, integrating both aesthetic and technical learning.

The second day of the workshop (October 9) will focus on advanced areas of content development, including AI-enabled tools for creators, digital reporting techniques, visual storytelling, and personal brand building through digital analytics.

Vinay Kumar, Head of the Department of Students’ Welfare, underlined that the ‘Students Creator Workshop’ aims to nurture the confidence and creative independence of young learners.
“Through this workshop, students are not just learning tools of production but also learning how to think critically, build narratives, and use digital spaces responsibly. This exposure will help them stand out in professional fields where creativity and communication are indispensable,” he remarked.
