DLC SUPVA and SAI Rohtak celebrate Sardar Patel’s Birth Anniversary with ‘Run for Unity’
The Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), in association with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), National Centre for Excellence, Rohtak celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by organizing a ‘Run for Unity’ under the banner of the Fit India Freedom Run initiative.
 
                        Rohtak, October 31, 2025: The Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), in association with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), National Centre for Excellence, Rohtak celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by organizing a ‘Run for Unity’ under the banner of the Fit India Freedom Run initiative.
The event began with a spirited march from the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium to the DLC SUPVA campus, symbolizing the values of unity, strength, and national integration that the Iron Man of India stood for. The march was led by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, accompanied by Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha, senior university officials, and officers from SAI.
Students, faculty members, and athletes participated in large numbers, creating a vibrant atmosphere of energy and camaraderie. The event reflected the strong collaboration between DLC SUPVA and SAI in promoting fitness, discipline, and patriotic spirit among youth.
On this occasion, three distinguished Indian boxers - Olympian Ashish Kumar Chaudhary, Commonwealth Medallist Kavinder Bisht, and Asian Silver Medallist Lalita Kumari - were felicitated by the Vice-Chancellor for their outstanding contribution to Indian boxing and their role in inspiring young sportspersons across the nation.
“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of a united and strong India is the cornerstone of our national spirit. This ‘Run for Unity’ is a reminder that strength lies not just in arms, but in harmony- when our youth, artists, and athletes move together with purpose,” said VC Dr. Amit Arya.
Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha added, “The collaboration between DLC SUPVA and SAI beautifully bridges creativity and discipline. Events like these nurture a culture of wellness and patriotism among students, helping them become both physically and mentally resilient citizens.”
The event concluded with cheers of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” as participants pledged to uphold the ideals of national unity, fitness, and collective progress- true to the legacy of Sardar Patel.
