District Magistrate Bans Sale Of Chinese Kite Strings

Ludhiana, September 11, 2015: District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajat Agarwal under section 144 of CrPC 1973 (Act No 2 of 1974) has banned the sale of Chinese Kite strings inLudhiana district (excluding areas under jurisdiction of Ludhiana PoliceCommissionerate). In his orders, Mr Agarwal has stated that its kite flyingseason these days, and as Chinese kite strings are made up of plastic and arecoated with glass particles, which lead to dangerous accidents. The Chinesekite strings have been banned with immediate effect till March 8, 2015.
