Goslan (Samrala), August 7, 2026: In a joint initiative to promote health, hygiene, and legal awareness among young girls and women, the District Administration, in collaboration with the Amodini Foundation and Dr. Neelam Sodhi, gynaecologist and social worker organized a comprehensive awareness workshop today at the Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Goslan.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Samrala, Gursimranjeet Kaur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The workshop focused on breaking societal taboos surrounding menstrual hygiene and educating participants about child safety rights under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
During an extended interactive session, the SDM actively engaged with the students, sharing practical advice and personal insights on managing menstrual health with dignity and confidence. Emphasizing the importance of open dialogue, the Chief Guest encouraged young girls to prioritize their health and remain informed about their legal rights.
The event witnessed active participation from both the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Goslan, and the local women of the village. As part of a sustainable health initiative, reusable sanitary pads were distributed to all participants to encourage eco-friendly and hygienic practices.
Representatives from the Amodini Foundation and Dr. Neelam Sodhi reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such grassroots awareness drives across the region to empower women and youth.
