Department-cum-Centre for Women’s Studies & Development Hosts Departmental Alumni Meet under 6th Global Alumni Meet of Panjab University

Chandigarh, November 1, 2025: The Department-cum-Centre for Women’s Studies & Development, Panjab University, organized a vibrant and heartwarming Alumni Meet as part of the University’s 6th Global Alumni Meet. The event brought together former students, faculty, and scholars to celebrate the legacy and shared memories of the Department.
 
The Alumni Meet was graced by the presence of Prof. Rajesh Kumar Chander, Prof. Manvinder Kaur, Dr. Ameer Sultana, along with guest faculty, office staff, project staff, and research scholars. The event was successfully organized by Dr. Deepti Saluhria and Akanksha Tonk, who coordinated the program with enthusiasm and dedication.
 
The gathering witnessed an engaging interaction where alumni from various batches fondly recalled their experiences at the Department and the University. They shared how the academic learnings and discussions on gender, equality, and empowerment at the Department had profoundly influenced their perspectives and professional journeys. Many alumni expressed heartfelt gratitude for the nurturing environment that shaped their understanding of women’s issuessocial and gender justice.
 
The meet was filled with nostalgic moments, laughter, and reflection, as the alumni revisited their cherished memories of campus life, faculty interactions, and peer learning. The event concluded on a warm note with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Akanksha Tonk, acknowledging the contributions of university administration, Dean Alumni,  faculty, staff, and alumni in making the gathering a memorable success.
