Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Trust, loyalty and commitment in relationships have become more relevant than ever in today’s times. Exploring these sensitive aspects, producer Rohit Rajawat is bringing his debut feature film, Dear Husband, to the big screen. Produced under the banner of Shooting Sense, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 25, 2026, with its release beginning in Uttar Pradesh.
Rohit Rajawat has previously produced several short films as well as the web series Nishachar. With Dear Husband, he now embarks on a new journey as a feature-film producer, attempting to bring the emotional complexities of relationships to a wider audience. Inspired by a real-life incident, the story of Dear Husband has been developed entirely as a work of fiction.
The film stars Ajit Goswami and Purnima Sharma in the lead roles, while Rohit Rajawat himself plays an important character. The film has been directed by Dharmendra Kumar. Shot extensively in Uttar Pradesh, the film incorporates the region’s local language, culture and social environment as an integral part of its narrative. According to the makers, Dear Husband will offer audiences glimpses of relationships and situations that they may recognise from their own surroundings and lives. Following its release in Uttar Pradesh, the makers are planning to take the film to Mumbai and other parts of the country.
