DCM Young Entrepreneurs School under aegis of DCM Group of Schools conducted first round of two-phase competition on National Entrepreneurs Day

Ludhiana, November 16, 2022: DCM Young Entrepreneurs School under the aegis of DCM Group of Schools conducted the first round of a two-phase competition on the National Entrepreneurs Day. The legacy educational institution has conducted its flagship initiative DCM IdeateFest 2.0 with an aim to inculcate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst school students through the power of ideas which can potentially transform the nation. 

Dr J K Sharma, Director of Gagan Jagdeep Pvt. Ltd, Dr SK Pillai, Professor, Thapar School of Management, Dr Kanika Sharma,Thinking Coach & Program Manager, EnPower, Hitesh Gulati, Business Strategist & Visiting Faculty of IIT Bombay constituted the panel of highly acclaimed jury. Students of classes 6 to 8 from Dass and Brown World School - Ferozepur, DCM Presidency School - Ludhiana and DCM YES - Rajguru Nagar Ludhiana participated in the idea pitching competition. A total of 51 teams participated in the programme out of which 21 teams were shortlisted for the grand finale that will be held in January 2023, where the finalists will be offered with incubation opportunities at the Entrepreneurship Development Center of DCM YES with startup funding. 

The selected ideas will be developed into prototypes/products through several rounds of bootcamps. Students were presented with participation certificates. Deputy CEO DCM Group of Schools Dr Gopaan Gopalakrishnan encouraged students for their participation and congratulated the winning teams. He said that identifying a problem and coming up with ideas to solve them is the first step towards innovation and all 51 teams presented exciting ideas. 

Rajni Kalra, Principal of DCM Presidency School gave a formal vote of thanks to the jury members and the organizers and admired the students’ hard work and their futuristic approach.
