DC Sachin Gupta Launches ‘Padhe Rohtak, Likhe Rohtak’ Mission to Make the District Fully NIPUN by January 2026
In a high-level Education Review Meeting held at the Mini Secretariat today, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta announced a comprehensive set of initiatives to transform learning outcomes in government schools under the banner “Padhe Rohtak, Likhe Rohtak.”
Rohtak, November 11, 2025: In a high-level Education Review Meeting held at the Mini Secretariat today, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta announced a comprehensive set of initiatives to transform learning outcomes in government schools under the banner “Padhe Rohtak, Likhe Rohtak.”
The meeting was attended by officers from the Education Department, Samagra Shiksha, DIET Madina, Block Education Officers, and heads of PM SHRI Schools. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed progress on literacy, infrastructure, teacher training, and innovation, setting ambitious targets for the next 75 days.
District’s Flagship Mission: Padhe Rohtak, Likhe Rohtak
Rohtak has taken up an accelerated Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) drive to make the district 100% NIPUN by January 2026.
• Target: All students lagging in one core skill (currently 17%) to be “upstaged” in the first 45 days; remaining 32% to achieve full skill mastery in the next 30 days.
• Zero Period – the district’s most successful learning innovation – will now be implemented in every school as a dedicated daily remedial session.
• Skill Tracker Fridays will record weekly progress of every child in reading, writing, and numeracy.
• Mother–Teacher Circles will promote home-based reading habits in rural areas.
• “Padho Likho Melas” will be held in January 2026 to celebrate Rohtak’s NIPUN achievement.
“Education is not about marks; it’s about mastery. Every child in Rohtak will read, write, and count with confidence by January,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
Strengthening Schools – Infrastructure and Quality
• All dual desk supplies, toilets, and electrical repairs to be completed by November end.
• Smart Classrooms to be fully functional with DIKSHA and e-Adhyan digital lessons.
• PM SHRI Schools to act as model institutions for both infrastructure and academic excellence.
• DIET Madina to conduct academic audits and mentoring for low-performing schools.
Teachers as Catalysts of Change
• Teacher Learning Circles to begin from December for sharing classroom innovations.
• A new District Teachers’ Innovation Award to recognize outstanding educators.
• Refresher Orientation Programmes for all newly posted teachers to be held in November.
Academic & Skill Initiatives
Rohtak’s education strategy blends strong academics with career readiness and innovation:
1. Maths Olympiad Coaching:
Five PGT Mathematics teachers from each block to be trained; Olympiad coaching for students to begin soon.
2. Super 40 Programme (IIT–JEE & NEET 2027):
To be launched on 1st December 2025 at GGSSS Hisar Road, Rohtak.
• 20 students each for IIT–JEE and NEET will be selected.
• Two-year free coaching, test series, and expert mentoring to be provided.
• Initiative supported by Samagra Shiksha with a ₹10 lakh allocation.
3. NSQF Skill Education:
• Fourteen trades introduced across sixty-six schools, benefiting 22,000+ students.
• Launch of “Donate Tools – Build Skills” campaign with local industries.
• District Skill Job Fair planned for February 2026.
Innovation in Education – The Rohtak Model
The DC Sachin Gupta announced a range of innovative projects being designed to make Rohtak a model district for creative, inclusive education:
* Rohtak Smart Class 360: Digital learning hubs with smart boards, bilingual micro-content, and offline e-learning for rural schools.
* Mission Hunar: Skill labs for coding, carpentry, electrical basics, and traditional crafts in partnership with ITIs and industries.
* Bal Vigyan and Innovation Clubs: Hands-on science and robotics clubs in every school, culminating in the annual “Rohtak Young Innovators’ Fair.”
* Green & Clean Campus Challenge: Every school to adopt an eco-project – rainwater harvesting, solar panels, or herbal gardens.
* Nanhi Chhatri – Girl Leadership Clubs: Leadership and self-defence training for girl students; menstrual hygiene awareness and vending machines in schools.
* Career Guidance & Counselling Portal: A one-stop career platform with alumni mentorship from civil services, medical, and engineering backgrounds.
* School Mitra Abhiyan: A community initiative encouraging parent volunteers to share local heritage, culture, and life skills in schools.
* Rohtak Sports & Wellness Academy: Structured sports training in wrestling, kabaddi, hockey, athletics, and daily yoga for holistic fitness.
The Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said, “We want every school in Rohtak to be a space of curiosity, not just curriculum. Through daily Zero Periods, Smart Classrooms, Skill Labs, and Teacher Innovation, we are creating a complete learning ecosystem. By January 2026, Rohtak will stand out as Haryana’s first truly NIPUN and innovation-driven district.”
Community & Parental Engagement
• Parent–Teacher Samvad to be held on 12 November 2025 across all schools.
• Parents to participate in reading sessions, storytelling, and mentoring.
• “Back to School” Campaign to reintegrate all out-of-school children by January 2026.
The Road Ahead
• November–December 2025 declared as Academic Quality Fortnight in all schools.
• Weekly reviews at the block level and fortnightly monitoring by the DC.
• Focus on visible classroom learning, not paperwork.
• Commitment to make Rohtak Haryana’s Model District for Education, Skills, and Innovation.
