DC Sachin Gupta inspects drainage arrangements in more than half a dozen villages of District

Rohtak, September 5, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that in order to ensure drainage of agricultural land, the capacity of all drains coming out of villages will be increased. He urged the affected farmers to register their crop losses on the e-Compensation Portal by September 15, 2025, so that they can receive compensation.
The Deputy Commissioner was interacting with villagers during his inspection of drainage works in more than half a dozen villages including Bhalauth, Aasan, Pakasma, Samchana, and Kasarenti. While talking to villagers, DC Sachin Gupta informed that in order to prevent water logging in agricultural land in the future, officials have been directed to prepare permanent drainage projects so they can be included in the annual flood agenda. He also instructed that additional resources should be utilized to ensure faster drainage of water from agricultural land.
DC Sachin Gupta also asked the representatives of the Gram Panchayats to accelerate drainage works using Panchayat funds. He assured that there will be no shortage of funds for Panchayats for development works. The Deputy Commissioner further directed that “thikri pehra” (community watch) should be arranged on all drains within Panchayat jurisdiction, and that the Irrigation Department will also monitor these drains. If any cracks appear in the drains, they must be repaired immediately. He emphasized that whenever canal cleaning work is undertaken in the future, Gram Panchayat representatives should be involved so that the cleaning of drains can be carried out under their supervision.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected drainage works in village Bhalauth, Kiloi Link Drain in village Aasan, the drain and the waterlogged fields in village Pakasma, the village pond and the local drain as well drainage works in village Kasarenti. During the inspection, SDM Sampla Utsav Anand, SDM Rohtak Ashish Kumar, DRO Pramod Chahal, and officers from various departments were also present.
