Rohtak, February 15, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta inaugurated the 'Rang Bahar' - Flower Exhibition at FDC Lawns of MDU along with Vice Chancellor Rajbir Singh on Sunday. The Flower Exhibition was organized to commemorate MDU's Golden Jubilee.

Deputy Commissioner's wife, Hena Sukhna, former RCI President Dr. Sharanjit Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. S.C. Malik, and Registrar Dr. Krishnakant, along with other dignitaries were present at the event.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, while praising the event, said that environmental protection is not limited to government schemes; it can only be achieved through public participation. He said that flowers and plants bring positivity, peace, and beauty to our lives. Such events connect society with the importance of greenery and instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among the youth.

Vice Chancellor Professor Rajbir Singh said that Rang Bahar is not just a flower exhibition, but a celebration of creativity, aesthetics, and a love for nature. He said that its objective is to encourage creative expression in students by engaging them in gardening, flower arrangement, and environmental conservation.

The impressive display of various seasonal and ornamental flowers, including roses, marigolds, pansies, petunias, calendulas, and dahlias, captivated the visitors. Creative floral arrangements, artistic decorations, and theme-based exhibitions were a highlight of the event. Cultural programs showcased folk art and tradition. An exhibition of decorative items and organic products conveyed the message of adopting an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Students showcased their creativity by participating enthusiastically in competitions such as bouquet decoration, floral jewelry, cut flowers, seasonal and ornamental plant potting competitions, rangoli, poster making, photography, selfies, and reel making.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh also inaugurated the artistic “Rang Aayam Rang Srijan” program, organized as part of “Rang Bahar”. He said that there is a need to recognize the commercial aspect of art, connect creativity with the needs of the market and society, and make it a medium for employment generation.

The Vice Chancellor said that children and youth should develop a curiosity and hunger for art, so that they see art not only as a form of expression, but also as a career and entrepreneurship. The photo and painting exhibition held in the Visual Arts Department was also a center of attraction for visitors.
