Rohtak, September 26, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that the NIPUN Bharat Mission will play a pivotal role in helping young children acquire reading skills swiftly and effectively in their formative years. He was addressing the media persons after inaugurating the NIPUN Vatika at the Government Model Sanskriti Primary School, Sectors 2, 3, and 4, Rohtak.

The Deputy Commissioner explained that the program is designed to create a stimulating learning environment for children in Classes I to III, enabling them to achieve foundational literacy and learning competencies at an early stage. He commended Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar for his leadership in setting up the NIPUN Vatika, developed under the CSR initiative with active support from partner banks. Two classrooms have been upgraded to meet the specific learning needs of children, and similar Vatikas will be established in all schools across the district, he added.

Highlighting the approach, the Deputy Commissioner said that children are encouraged to learn through play and interactive activities, since young learners naturally show deep interest in games. He urged parents to ensure regular school attendance and foster children’s interest in studies through engaging activities. He emphasized that instead of focusing narrowly on marks, education must aim at the holistic development of children. He further stated that the district administration is committed to involving children in physical and social activities to reduce their dependence on mobile phones.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar described NIPUN Vatika as the first-of-its-kind initiative in Haryana, which has been recommended for replication at the state level so other districts may also adopt it. He underlined that the project’s purpose is to cultivate an early interest in studies among children and ensure quality learning environments in government schools. The primary focus, he said, is on improving Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) outcomes.

ADC explained that the classrooms have been made visually engaging, with walls decorated with maps, Hindi and English language aids, and other learning tools that promote active participation. These child-friendly interventions make learning enjoyable while enhancing concentration and interest. He also acknowledged the CSR support of AU Small Finance Bank, which enabled the classroom upgrades, and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing improved educational opportunities for government school students.

The NIPUN Vatika smart classrooms are equipped with digital screens, projectors, educational charts, and other modern teaching tools. These resources will support both teachers and students, making the learning process more engaging and effective. School principals and teachers expressed gratitude to AU Bank for this initiative, calling it a commendable step towards securing a bright future for children.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta also planted saplings on the school premises, giving a message of environmental conservation to students and staff. The program was attended by DEEO Diljit Singh, Bank’s Regional Head Mukesh Aneja, Branch Manager Gaurav Kapoor, Marketing Manager Ravikant Yadav, along with other dignitaries and teachers.
