DC Sachin Gupta directs to expand activities of District Red Cross Society; emphasizes on increasing the blood donation camps

He emphasized increasing the number of blood donation camps, providing employment-oriented home nursing training to youth, and preparing a plan to impart First Aid and CPR training to government officers and employees.
Rohtak, December 18, 2025: Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Red Cross Society, Sachin Gupta, while reviewing the activities of the Society, directed that awareness camps be organized in schools, colleges and universities. He emphasized increasing the number of blood donation camps, providing employment-oriented home nursing training to youth, and preparing a plan to impart First Aid and CPR training to government officers and employees.
The Deputy Commissioner was reviewing the activities of the District Red Cross Society at the Video Conference Hall of the local Mini Secretariat. He said that the number of blood donation camps should be increased in collaboration with non-governmental organizations. From April to November 2025, the Society organized 238 blood donation camps and collected 12,500 units of blood. For the year 2025–26, a target has been set to organize 400 blood donation camps and collect 25,000 units of blood. Under the TI Project, health check-ups of 10,781 migrant truck drivers were conducted from April to November 2025, and 321 health camps were organized during this period.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that First Aid training camps should be organized in schools, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), colleges and universities. Awareness camps should also be held in these institutions to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Students should be trained in First Aid, disaster management and CPR. From April to November 2025, the Society provided basic one-day First Aid training to 14,005 persons, occupational First Aid training to 2,040 persons, industrial First Aid training to 791 persons, and CPR training to 1,270 persons. During the same period, 1,300 students from various schools were provided free First Aid and CPR training.
He further said that, keeping in view the needs of senior citizens, students of universities and ITIs should be trained in home nursing to create employment opportunities for them. Coordination should be established with the Civil Hospital and PGI to facilitate suitable employment for youth trained in home nursing, as per requirements. To encourage youth to enroll in home nursing training, pamphlets should be displayed at identified locations. He informed that the Society has distributed assistive devices to 250 persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta also directed that village-level camps be organized to conduct health check-ups of senior citizens. As a first step, blood pressure, sugar and other tests of senior citizens above 60 years of age should be conducted in Baniyani village. He further instructed that a comprehensive roadmap be prepared for providing First Aid and CPR training to officers and employees of various departments. Efforts should be made to associate more youth with the Red Cross and to increase the number of volunteers so that their services can be utilized whenever required.
He instructed the officials to ensure proper maintenance of Red Cross resources and to prepare a complete inventory of the Society’s buildings, land and other assets. He also reviewed the income and expenditure of the Society and issued necessary directions. Instructions were also given for proper maintenance of the building of the leprosy ashram being run by the Society. He added that Civil Defence should also be activated by the Society.
On this occasion, Red Cross Society Secretary Vikas, District Training In-charge Ravi Dutt, TI Project Manager Preeti, and other concerned officers and staff were present.
