Rotary Club of Rohtak Next Donates 5 ACs to PGIMS for Cancer Patients

Rohtak, July 30, 2026: With the aim of providing relief to cancer patients, the Rotary Club of Rohtak Next has donated five window air conditioners (ACs) to the Onco-Surgery Department of PGIMS, Rohtak.
Club President Rotarian Atul Bansal stated that this would facilitate better post-surgical healing for patients and reduce the risk of infection. He formally offered the donation—comprising two 2-ton ACs and three 1.5-ton ACs—by handing over a letter to Dr. S.K. Singhal, Director of PGIMS, Rohtak.
Dr. Sanjeev Prasad, Head of the Onco-Surgery Department, said that the department's OPD receives approximately 750 patients every month from Haryana as well as other states. The department primarily performs surgeries for breast, oral, lung, esophageal, ovarian, and cervical cancers. He explained that installing ACs in the high-dependency and post-operative areas would ensure a comfortable temperature for patients. This would help reduce post-operative infections caused by humidity during the summer months and improve the likelihood of a speedy recovery.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Aggarwal commended the initiative, stating that better healthcare services can be provided to patients through the support of social organizations like the Rotary Club of Rohtak Next. PGIMS Director Dr. S.K. Singhal also appreciated the club's efforts.
