DC Sachin Gupta appeals Citizens to Voluntarily Follow Traffic Rules for Their Own and Others’ Safety

Rohtak, 7 January, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta released the Road Safety Awareness Campaign calendar and posters. The district administration is making every possible effort to minimize road accidents and prevent loss of life by making optimum use of technology.
At his office in the Mini Secretariat, Rohtak, the Deputy Commissioner released the Road Safety Calendar and Road Safety Awareness Campaign posters along with RTA Secretary Virender Singh Dhull. He appealed to citizens to voluntarily follow traffic rules in the interest of their own safety. The traffic rules framed by the government are meant solely to ensure public safety.
DC Sachin Gupta said that under the road safety initiative, the District Transport Officer and the office of the Regional Transport Authority have issued a calendar to spread awareness about traffic rules, based on the theme “Safety through Learning, Transformation through Technology.” In addition, awareness posters have also been released as part of the Road Safety Awareness Campaign being organized during the month of January. Citizens will be educated about traffic rules through these calendars and posters.
The Deputy Commissioner further emphasized that citizens should always wear seat belts while driving and should not use mobile phones while driving. Carrying more than two riders on a two-wheeler is a violation of rules. Two-wheelers must not be driven without helmets. Overloading vehicles is a punishable offence. Driving under the influence of alcohol should be strictly avoided. School buses must comply with the Road-Safe School Vehicle Policy. During foggy conditions, drivers should slow down and use fog lights. Vehicles should always be driven in lanes, reflector tapes should be installed, and children should be sent to school in safe vehicles.
Transport Officer and RTA Secretary Virender Singh Dhull, informed that the district administration is running a Road Safety Awareness Campaign across the district till 31 January 2026. The objective of the campaign is to reduce road accidents by making citizens aware of traffic rules. The campaign involves the Regional Transport Authority, traffic police, schools, colleges, and all road construction-related departments. Special awareness is also being created about the safety of pedestrians.
On this occasion, Traffic SHO Jasbir Singh, Rakesh Kumar, and officials from the RTA office including Jasbir Singh and Sandeep Singh Gulia were present.
