Day One of Induction Program concluded at UBS
Ludhiana, July 8, 2019: University Business School, Panjab University Regional Centre organized an induction program for its 13th batch to the two year full-time MBA program offered by Panjab University, Chandigarh. UBS, Ludhiana is one of the two Non-IIM members Institute in the Punjab state that considers Common Admission Test score conducted by Indian Institute of Management for admitting MBA aspirants. A three day induction started by a welcome address by the Director, PURC, Prof. Ravi Inder Singh. Prof. Singh highlighted the academic excellence achieved by the students of the department in the past. Since the inception of the department, the students of UBS Ludhiana have been bagging the top merit position in the Panjab University MBA examination. Ms. Deepali Kalia recently has been awarded Certificate of Merit and scholarship of amount Rs. 10,000/- by the Panjab University Alumni Association, Chandigarh for the academic excellence in MBA for the academic session 2017-18. Lt Gen BS Jaswal, PVSM, AVSM**, VSM (retd) and Mr. Pankaj Pandey, Mall Head, Pavilion Mall were the key speakers on the day one. Lt Gen Jaswal is an expert defence analyst and is regular panellist on the television on matters pertaining to internal and external security dimensions, especially pertaining to China and Pakistan. He emphasised the need and importance of Proactive Leadership. The second session was addressed by Mr. Pankaj Pandey, the man behind all the fun & frolic in the town and bringing the brands that the shopaholics from Ludhiana are crazy for! While delivering an insightful perspective of what employer expects from MBA graduates, Mr. Pandey highlighted that how being associated with the premier department of Panjab University, Chandigarh i.e. UBS, Ludhiana provides the well-earned leverage. Dr. Ashish Saihjpal coordinated the program and Mr. Shashi Kapoor presented the vote of thanks. The sessions were attended by the faculty members, staff members and the senior batch of MBA students.
