Day 2: Tex-Style Week Celebrations Witnessed Vibrant Inter-Class Competitions Celebrating Fashion and Sustainability

Chandigarh, September 16, 2026: Innovative Interclass competitions designed to test students’ cultural wit and sartorial creativity were organised on the second day of Tex-Style Week celebrations at Government Home Science College, Chandigarh Tuesday.
The first event, Fashion Antakshari, added a lively musical twist to the celebrations. Teams competed by singing songs based on colours, fabrics, fashion accessories and trends, filling the venue with energy and cheer. The second competition, Innovative Dress Styling, centred on the core values of sustainable fashion- Rewear, Reuse and Restyle. Participants were challenged to breathe new life into older, unworn garments. Using up-cycled textiles and clever layering techniques, they created striking, red-carpet-worthy ensembles that demonstrated how circular fashion can be both economical and high-end.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal lauded the participants for their spirited enthusiasm and artistic ingenuity. She further reaffirmed the college’s commitment to nurturing creative expression alongside environmentally conscious living.
