Bathinda, September 13:  The PG/Ph.D. students of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB), NAAC accredited ‘A Grade’ University and the University with 84th Rank in the ‘University Category’ of NIRF India Rankings 2021, have showcased their talent during the job interviews conducted by corporate houses/government organizations in 2021. This year, around 41 students got selected in MNCs/ Corporate Houses providing services in Pharmaceutical, Software and IT, Education, Healthcare, Biosciences, Management, and Agri Export sector. In addition to this, around 24 students got selected in Government Organizations and 4 students got selected in foreign university/government department of other countries. Out of 69 students who got selected in job interviews, 25 got selected via placement drive conducted by different departments of the university namely Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Natural Products; Dept. of Pharmacology; Dept. of Applied Agriculture; and Dept. of Computer Science & Technology.

As per information received from different departments of the university, 10 students from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Natural Products, five (5) students from the Department of Pharmacology, three (3) students from the Department of Applied Agriculture, seven (7) students from the Department of Computer Science & Technology, six (6) students from Dept. of Mathematics and Statistics, two (2) students from Dept. of Biochemistry, four (4) students from Dept. of Chemistry, three (3) students from Dept. of Microbiology, eight (8) students from Dept. of Plant Sciences, three (3) students from Dept. of Physical Education, three (3) students from Dept. of Financial Administration, four (4) students from Dept. of Education, two (2) students from Dept. of Physics, two (2) students from Dept. of Zoology, two (2) students from Dept. of Environment Science & Technology, two (2) students from Dept of Hindi, and one (1) student each from Dept. of English, Dept. of Computational Sciences and Dept. of Geography got selected in job interviews.

The highest package got by students who selected in Indian & foreign organizations are Rs 10.2/- Lakh per annum and 52,704/- US$ per annum respectively. Apart from this, many students studying in PG Programmes of the university have qualified competitive exams to avail scholarships for perusing higher education.
