Mumbai (Anil Bedag): The recently held The Centenary Summit: Shatabdi Conference in Mumbai was far more than a formal gathering—it was a celebration of a professional journey that has shaped India’s tax, accounting, and legal ecosystem for over a century. Marked by grace, vision, and intellectual depth, the Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC) commemorated its 100th anniversary in a manner that transformed the summit into a true magazine-worthy moment.
With the presence of leading finance, tax, and legal professionals from across the country, the summit emerged as a powerful platform for meaningful dialogue on India’s rapidly evolving economic and regulatory landscape. The conversations went beyond numbers and statutes, delving into experience, ethics, and responsibility—the very values on which CTC has built its 100-year foundation.
Delivering the keynote address, Arijit Basu, Chairman Designate (Non-Executive) of IndusInd Bank, placed India’s economic growth story in a broader and more thoughtful perspective. He said, “India’s growth is not merely a story of speed and scale. Sustainable progress demands ethical leadership, institutional resilience, and long-term thinking—and professionals play a pivotal role in maintaining this balance,”
According to CA Jayant Gokhale, President of CTC, the Centenary Summit was not about reminiscing alone, but about readiness for the future. CTC’s hundred-year legacy, he emphasized, teaches that professional practice must continuously evolve with time. Governance, accountability, and the integration of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence have now become integral to the profession.
CA Vipul Choksi, Chairman of the Centenary Year Committee, connected the vision of the summit with CTC’s centenary theme.he said that The summit was thoughtfully designed keeping emerging trends and present-day professional challenges in mind. Every session inspired delegates to think deeper, learn more, and move forward with confidence,”
From the impactful keynote to the engaging fireside chat with Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, each session reinforced a clear message—professional excellence today is incomplete without multidisciplinary thinking and innovation.
Highlighting the organisation’s learning culture, CA Neha Gada, Vice-President of CTC, described it as the true strength of the Chamber. She noted that CTC has always been a confluence of seasoned experience and youthful energy. The Centenary Summit, she said, reflected this spirit by honouring its rich legacy while embracing technology and new professional models with confidence. As CTC steps into its next century, the Centenary Summit reaffirmed the organisation’s enduring commitment to thought leadership, professional integrity, and future-ready excellence—signalling that the journey ahead is as purposeful as the hundred years gone by.
