Jalandhar, October 22, 2022: Diwali is the festival of lights. It’s a celebration that marks the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is celebrated across all communities of India, creating a homogenous environment of goodwill and happiness. With the aim to provide knowledge to students about the concept of Eco-friendly and pollution free diwali, A seminar on Green Diwali was organized by CTIMIT. The key Speaker for this seminar was Damanbir Singh, PPS, ACP North, District Commissionerate Jalandhar. He enlightened the students about the concept of Green Diwali.

He mentioned that it is a festival to celebrate with family and friends to light up our and others’ lives with lights, gifts, and-sweets. Yet, bursting firecrackers has become a prominent part of the festival. Firecrackers lead to gaseous pollutants emissions that harm the environment and health. Also, the noise causes distress to the elderly, especially to those with heart disease. This seminar enriched the students with immense awareness and a zeal to celebrate Eco-friendly this year and in the coming years. 

Damanbir Singh, PPS,ACP North Interacted with the students on how the crackers and the noises can badly impact the health of the pets. “These Seminars play a vital role in expanding knowledge and stay current with concepts prevailing and new moderation.” says the campus director Dr. Yogesh Chhabra.
