Jalandhar, December 3, 2025: CT Institute of Architecture and Planning, Shahpur, Jalandhar has formalised a strategic collaboration with Global Sikhs, Patiala, and CRCI India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at integrating academic expertise with humanitarian action for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities in Punjab.
This partnership focuses on empowering students with real-world learning experiences while contributing meaningfully to community rebuilding efforts. The initiative will involve the documentation, analysis, and design of resilient housing solutions for families whose homes were damaged or lost during the recent floods in the Fazilka and Gurdaspur districts.
Under the guidance of specialists appointed by Global Sikhs and CRCI India, students will undertake an immersive, multi-stage programme that includes:
• Documenting housing typologies across flood-affected settlements
• Studying local building practices and integrating them with modern resilience strategies
• Developing context-appropriate, sustainable design solutions
• Engaging with communities through consultations, interviews, and on-site interactions
• Creating comprehensive process documentation through drawings, graphics, essays, and reports
This collaboration reflects CT Institute of Architecture and Planning’s commitment to socially conscious education, equipping future architects with the skills to respond to real-world challenges through empathy, innovation, and community engagement. By working alongside Global Sikhs and CRCI India, the institute aims to contribute to long-term, meaningful recovery efforts while enhancing student learning through hands-on field exposure.
The partnership stands as a testament to the institute’s belief in architecture as a tool for resilience, rebuilding, and social good.
