Over 80 Players Showcase Talent at District-Level Yogasana Championship in Ludhiana
More than 80 players participated in the District-Level Yogasana Sports Championship organised in Ludhiana to promote yoga as a sport and encourage youngsters to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Players from different age groups showcased their skills in various yogasana disciplines, displaying balance, concentration, discipline, and physical fitness.
Ludhiana, August 24, 2026: More than 80 players participated in the District-Level Yogasana Sports Championship organised in Ludhiana to promote yoga as a sport and encourage youngsters to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Players from different age groups showcased their skills in various yogasana disciplines, displaying balance, concentration, discipline, and physical fitness.
The winners in different age categories were honoured with certificates and prizes for securing first, second, and third positions.
District Yogasana Sports Association Secretary Sunil Kumar said the championship aimed to promote interest in yoga among children and youngsters and encourage them towards a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. He said yoga plays an important role in improving physical fitness as well as mental concentration and confidence.
Association president Inderjit Singh congratulated the winners, participants, coaches and parents and said such competitions help connect youngsters with yoga and sports. He also wished the players selected for the upcoming state-level competition success.
Among the major winners, Samreet Kaur and Dhruvam topped the girls’ and boys’ categories respectively in the 8-10 years age group, while Geetika and Savar Chopra won the 10-12 years categories. Shruti Guleria and Aarabh topped the 12-14 years categories, Arnav Thakur won the 14-16 years boys’ category, Taisha the 16-18 years girls’ category, Araaya Singal the 18-21 years girls’ category, Kishan the 21-25 years boys’ category and Mahima the 25-30 years women’s category.
