Jalandhar, December 24, 2025: CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, organised a Kavishiri Samagam to honour the supreme sacrifice of the Chaar Sahibzade, remembering their unmatched courage, unwavering faith, and martyrdom in the face of tyranny. The programme was aimed at reflecting upon the immense hardships endured by the Sahibzade and the sacrifices that ensured the survival and strength of Sikh values and identity.
Through powerful Kavishiri performances, students and artistes narrated poignant episodes from Sikh history, vividly highlighting the bravery, righteousness, and spiritual strength of the Sahibzade. Kavishiri, a revered traditional Sikh poetic art form, served as a living medium of history—preserving sacred narratives, instilling cultural pride, and inspiring the younger generation to understand the depth of sacrifice made for the protection of faith and justice.
The relevance of Kavishiri and Kavita was emphasised as timeless art forms that not only recount historical events but also awaken moral courage and collective consciousness. Such traditional expressions continue to play a vital role in connecting today’s youth with their cultural and spiritual roots.
Following the Kavishiri Samagam, Gatka performances were presented, showcasing the traditional Sikh martial art that symbolises discipline, self-defence, and spiritual resilience. Gatka holds deep significance in Punjab’s heritage, reflecting the preparedness and valour that enabled Sikhs to withstand persecution and safeguard their faith and community.
The programme also featured the distribution of milk langar, highlighting the pivotal role of langar in Sikh tradition. Langar stands as a powerful symbol of equality, selfless service, and unity, reinforcing the Sikh principle of Sarbat da Bhala—the welfare of all.
Together, Kavishiri, Gatka, and langar brought alive the essence of Sikh heritage, reflecting the depth of sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the Chaar Sahibzade. Such cultural expressions serve as enduring reminders of the trials endured and the moral strength required to uphold righteousness.
The event witnessed the presence of CT Group Management, including Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Director of Campus, Dr Shiv Kumar, DSWs of CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus and CT University Dr. Arjan Singh, and Davinder Singh, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to remain deeply connected with their cultural and spiritual heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, the organising body stated that such programmes are essential to preserve Sikh history and pass on its values to future generations. They emphasised that Kavishiri Samagams function as living classrooms, keeping the legacy of the Chaar Sahibzade alive through art, remembrance, and community participation.
Through this initiative, CT Group reaffirmed its commitment to value-based education, cultural preservation, and the promotion of Punjab’s rich Sikh heritage.
