CT Group of Institutions at Jalandhar organized a CSR activity with a view to draw attention of the city people towards the benefits of cycling.

Jalandhar, May 16, 2015: Now a day in India we see most of the people travelling on bike or cars for personal travel. In cities we hardly see cycles on the roads. People feel insulted while riding a bicycle ignoring its basic benefits for health and society. Keeping this in mind, CT Group of Institutions organized a CSR activity with a view to draw attention of the city people towards the benefits of cycling.

A General Knowledge based Q/A contest was played with the city residents. The participants who won the contest were felicitated with bicycles.

Students informed the residents about the different benefits of cycling for one’s health and to the society. They said that one can control pollution by using cycles.  Most of people use Motorcycles or cars for travelling even very short distances. They feel lazy to walk. They do not use public transportation like buses or local trains. Instead, they use their own bikes or cars. They use bikes or cars for going to their offices. They feel deeply insulted to use cycles for going to the office. All these habits are contributing to various maladies & ailments. If a person uses a cycle regularly for going to office, one can avoid excess fat, obesity, BP, diabetics, constipation etc.

Bikes and cars for personal travel are very much useful when you travel long distances covering more than 10 km. Distances less than 10 km can be easily covered on cycles. It saves petrol and more importantly, it is very good for health. Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said that the objective of the rally is to create awareness among people about the benefits of cycling. "It is eco-friendly, good for health and saves petrol."

He said, “Over the years, increased incomes have encouraged Indians to purchase bikes, cars and other luxurious things which paved highways to early death. Nowadays, a lot of people in India are the victims of obesity, BP, diabetics, cancer. We can see even young people in their early 30s dying of heart attacks. For people in their 40s having BP, diabetics etc. the   biggest reason for these heath problems is pollution caused by ever increasing petrol and diesel vehicles on Indian roads and lack of physical work of the human body.
