Jalandhar, July 2, 2025: As part of CT Group’s continuous commitment to global research excellence and cross-border academic collaboration, a distinguished research initiative is underway in partnership with the prestigious Teikyo University Institute of Medical Mycology (TIMM), Japan.
Led by Professor Vir Vikram and research scholar Roy from CT University, this collaborative project is focused on the study of silkworms within the domain of medical mycology. The research explores various developmental stages of silkworms and their interaction with fungal pathogens, offering promising insights into host-pathogen dynamics, resistance mechanisms, and fungal biology.
During their tenure at Teikyo University, the CT University team worked closely with Dr. Atsushi Miyashita, a renowned researcher in the field, and engaged in valuable academic discussions with Prof. Koichi Makimura, Director at the University. The project has provided access to cutting-edge methodologies and lab infrastructure at TIMM, known for its global contributions to diagnostics, antifungal drug resistance studies, and molecular analysis of pathogenic fungi.
The collaboration was initiated during a formal visit by the CT University delegation, supported by Dr. Manbir Singh, Pro-Chancellor, CT University, who emphasized:
“Teikyo University’s excellence in mycological research aligns with CT University’s mission of innovation, knowledge-sharing, and global engagement.”
This joint research marks the beginning of a deeper alliance between CT Group and Teikyo University, aiming to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, and high-impact scientific outcomes.
