Chandigarh, October 22, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Parkash Singh Badal today deeply mourned the sad demise of former Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) and Honorary member of International Olympic committee Mr.Ashwani Kumar.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Mr.Ashwani Kumar as an able administrator, a thorough gentleman, a fine human being with the rare qualities of head and heart and above all a great sports lover. He said that the outstanding services rendered by Mr. Ashwani Kumar in various capacities during his long and splendid service in Police force would be ever remembered by one and all. Mr. Badal said that Mr. Ashwani Kumar, who was credited with introducing sports culture in the Punjab Police, always discharged his duties with utmost dedication, sincerity and professional commitment adding that his life would always act as an inspiration to the Police officers to fulfill their responsibility zealously and diligently.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family members, friends and well wishers the Chief Minister prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of crisis.
