CLS Holds Musical Evening to Signal Start of CLF Literati 2025
Sufi Singer Bhuvan Sharma Mesmerizes the Audience with his Soulful Singing
On November 22 and 23, Literary Sessions Will Be Organized at Lake Club
Chandigarh, November 21, 2025: The 13th edition of the three-day CLF Literati 2025(Chd. LitFest), being organised by the Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS), kicked-off ceremonially at Rani Laxmibai Bhawan, Sec 38, Chandigarh with musical presentation, ‘Saaz Au Awaaz’, which showcased the soothing voice of renowned Sufi singer Bhuvan Sharma. Bhuvan Sharma took the audience on a spiritual journey, with every melody touching the deepest corners of the heart.
Dr. Sumita Mishra, IAS, Chairperson, Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) and Festival Director, CLF Literati 2025 (Chandigarh LitFest), warmly welcomed all the guests during the musical evening. She said, “The evening was dedicated to the beautiful confluence of music and words, where melodies and literature together infused new energy and emotions into the hearts of members of the audience.”
“Through this year’s theme, ‘Worlds Within Words’, we feel that music lives within words and that the entire universe can be experienced through music,” she said.
Meanwhile, during his performance, Bhuvan Sharma beautifully blended the earthy charm of Punjabi folk songs, the spiritual depth of Sufi-Kalaam, the elegance of Ghazals, and the nostalgic magic of old Hindi film songs. At times the hall echoed with thunderous applause, while at other moments the audience sat in spellbound silence, lost in the depth of his melodies. This memorable evening truly made the opening of CLF Literati 2025 an unforgettable experience.
It may be noted that literary discussions during the Lit Fest will be held on November 22 and 23 at the Lake Club. In two days of interactive sessions many well-known writers, poets, ad filmmakers, and artistes will participate. The festival will feature thought-provoking sessions, book launches, and creative writing workshops. On November 22, among the most awaited names is ad filmmaker and ad guru Prahlad Kakkar, known for his iconic advertising campaigns. The acclaimed actress and poet Sandhya Mridul will also be part of the activities planned on Nov 22 among many more writers and artistes.
On the concluding day apart from exciting literary exchanges a highlight will be the CLF Literati Awards in which three books will be awarded. ‘The Undying Light: A Personal History of Independent India’ by Gopalkrishna Gandhi (Aleph Book Company) will be awarded in the English Non –Fiction category; ‘The Ayodhya Alliance: Bharat Collection 8’ by Ashwin Sanghi (HarperCollins Publishers India) in English Fiction and in the Hindi section ‘Shubh Din’ by Balram (Rajkamal Prakashan Pvt. Ltd) will be awarded.
