Chevening Interaction held at School of Communication Studies, PU

School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, today hosted an interactive session on higher education opportunities. Supriya Chawla, Acting Deputy High Commissioner at the British Deputy High Commission (BDHC), Chandigarh and  Head of Chevening Scholarships India was the keynote speaker at the event. Jyoti Kamal, Managing Editor TV 18 Network (PH, JKLH) graced the occasion and shared his experiences as a Chevening alumnus.  Rajinder S Nagarkoti, Political, Press, and Projects Adviser (BDHC) also attended the event. Prof. Anju Suri, Dean Faculty of Arts and Director, HRDC, PU was the guest of honour at the event.

Dr. Bhavneet Bhatti, Chairperson, School of Communication Studies, said “It is important for the students to gain exposure to global opportunities. SCS’s collaboration with BDHC will go a long way in providing meaningful opportunities to the students.”

The session provided a comprehensive overview of the Chevening Fellowship Programme, shedding light on the numerous opportunities it presents for aspiring scholars. Participants were offered valuable insights into the application process, eligibility criteria, and the wealth of experiences awaiting them through this prestigious program, informed Supriya Chawla. Jyoti Kamal shared highlights from his journey as the Chevening Fellow through many anecdotes. Rajinder Nagarkoti informed that the deadline for submitting applications is November 7th, 2023. Prof. Anju Suri presided over the event and appreciated the efforts of SCS and BDHC in organizing the event.
