Mohali, September 20, 2025: CGC University, Mohali men's swimming team has emerged as the overall champions at the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Inter-College Tournament 2025-26. The event, held at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, saw intense competition among teams from various colleges under IKGPTU, but it was CGC University’s swimmers who dominated with their exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship.
From the very beginning, the swimmers from CGC University, Mohali showcased their strong presence in every competition. The team's collective effort and consistent performance led them to secure medals in multiple events across different categories. This remarkable display of skill and willpower earned them the prestigious Winner's Trophy, adding another significant achievement to the institution's record.
A standout performer at the tournament was CGC University's Lakshay Jindal. His extraordinary speed, endurance, and technique helped him secure multiple gold medals in various categories. In recognition of his outstanding efforts, Lakshay was honored with the prestigious title of "Best Swimmer" of the tournament. Additionally, the CGC University relay team delivered a thrilling performance to claim the gold medal, a victory that highlighted their excellent teamwork, coordination, and mutual trust.
