Mohali, July 27, 2026: CGC University Mohali has inaugurated the state-of-the-art 'Milkha Singh Arena', reaffirming its commitment to promoting sporting excellence among students and inspiring young athletes to achieve greater heights. The modern indoor sports facility has been designed to foster discipline, dedication, and perseverance while encouraging a culture of fitness and competitive excellence.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Ritu Pathak, Executive Director of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
Named in memory of India's legendary athlete Milkha Singh, fondly known as 'The Flying Sikh', the arena stands as a symbol of determination, resilience, and an unwavering spirit of excellence. The facility serves as a fitting tribute to the iconic sportsman whose inspiring journey continues to motivate generations of young athletes to dream big and overcome every challenge.
Speaking on the occasion, Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, CGC University Mohali, said, "Our primary objective is the holistic development of our students.
