CGC University Mohali Concludes 2nd Academic Council Meeting, Maps Out Academic Roadmap for Future Education
Reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, innovation-driven education, and institutional development, CGC University Mohali successfully conducted its 2nd Academic Council Meeting. The high-level meeting brought together renowned educationists, industry experts, and senior administrators from across the country to deliberately discuss the university's future academic directions and policies.
Mohali, May 27, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, innovation-driven education, and institutional development, CGC University Mohali successfully conducted its 2nd Academic Council Meeting. The high-level meeting brought together renowned educationists, industry experts, and senior administrators from across the country to deliberately discuss the university's future academic directions and policies.
The meeting commenced with the rendering of the National Anthem. Welcoming the esteemed members, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Goyal reiterated the university's vision to establish a global footprint by blending research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and ethical values with student-centric education. He emphasized the vital importance of aligning with the evolving technological landscape, strengthening industry-academia partnerships, and adopting modern pedagogical frameworks.
Comprehensive deliberations were held regarding the university's academic, examination, and Ph.D. regulations. The Council highly appreciated the university's concerted efforts in aligning its academic policies with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), ensuring transparency and flexibility in the examination system, and reinforcing outcome-based education. Keeping in view the contemporary demands of the industrial sector, special emphasis was laid on introducing future-ready programs in emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security, Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Fintech, Business Analytics, and Digital Transformation.
Furthermore, the Council reviewed the strategic roadmap of the newly envisioned 'Newton School of AI & Computing' and 'Meta School of Business', developed in strategic collaboration with globally acclaimed organizations like IBM, EY, and KPMG.
During the session, major institutional milestones were prominently highlighted, including the university's inclusion under the UGC Act, listing in AISHE, membership in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and statutory approvals secured from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). Concluding the meeting successfully, Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Examinations) & Registrar, CGC University Mohali, extended a formal vote of thanks to all the dignitaries.
Expressing his satisfaction, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, Founding Chancellor of CGC University, congratulated all the council members, experts, and officials on the successful conduct of the meeting. He remarked that these collaborative efforts would significantly catalyze the realization of the university's ultimate vision to nurture globally competent and socially responsible future leaders.
