CGC Landran sets up memorial for Alumnus Late Major Dixant Thapa

Chandigarh, October 10, 2021: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran unveiled a memorial in remembrance of their B.Tech Alumnus Late Major Dixant Thapa of 6 MECH INF (1GARH RIF) who was deployed along the LAC in Ladakh as a Technical Officer and sacrificed his life while on duty, performing a critical operational task in August 2020.
To pay homage to the braveheart, an unveiling ceremony was organized on campus wherein CGC Landran’s Chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu, President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, and other Management officials were joined in by the parents of Major Thapa along with Col. Harvinder Singh and team members of the battalion 6 MECH INF (1GARH RIF).
Chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu while expressing his heartfelt concern on the loss of such a bright and young Alumnus, said, “He will forever stay deep-rooted in our hearts and his memorial on the campus will be an epitome of his dedication and sacrifice for the country. His family values groomed him to become such a noble young man and I wish that every youngster must contribute to the nation’s progress through whichever profession they may adopt. He will always stay a source of inspiration for every CGCian in the times to come”
