The Centre for Women Development (CWD), UILS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an empowering session titled “SHE EVOLVES – A Holistic Journey of Women’s Health” in the Moot Court Hall.
Chandigarh, February 24, 2026: The Centre for Women Development (CWD), UILS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an empowering session titled “SHE EVOLVES – A Holistic Journey of Women’s Health” in the Moot Court Hall.
The session focused on holistic women’s health, addressing the various phases of a woman’s life from adolescence to menopause.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Seema Sharma, Associate Director, Cloudnine Hospital, Chandigarh, a renowned gynaecologist with over 25 years of experience and expertise in high-risk pregnancies and women’s wellness.
Dr. Seema Sharma delivered an insightful lecture covering women’s health from adolescence to menopause, highlighting the close connection between physical health, mental well-being and emotional resilience. She raised awareness about critical issues such as cervical and breast cancer, stressing the preventive role of regular screenings and HPV vaccination. She also addressed student mental health, distinguishing between normal stress and anxiety-related concerns, while emphasising the role educational institutions can play in supporting young women’s well-being.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in discussions and gained clarity on various aspects of women’s health. The lecture provided a safe and informative platform for awareness, dialogue and learning.
The event was organised under the guidance of Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS; Prof. Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator; and Dr. Sulbha Setia, Teacher Coordinator, along with the dedicated efforts of the Core Team consisting of Ruhani (President), Maan Kaur (Convenor), Harleen Chaudhary and Varsha Sharma (Co-Convenors), Lakshay Rajora and Jhanvi (Advisory Members). The event was led by Event Heads Jasmeet Kaur and Chhavi.
The session proved to be both enlightening and impactful, reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to promoting awareness, wellness and empowerment among students.
