Central University of Punjab's Research Scholar got selected as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Columbia University (USA) at a salary of $64,000

Bathinda, April 20, 2023: Dr. Abhilash Ludhiadch, a research scholar at the Department of Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB), got selected as the Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Department of Genetics and Development at Columbia University (USA). He has received a salary package of $64000 (Rs 52.3 lakh) per annum.

Abhilash Ludhiadch did his Post Graduation in Human Genetics from the Central University of Punjab. After completion of his master's degree, he joined the Ph.D. programme under the supervision of Prof. Anjana Munshi (Director, Research and Development Cell, and HoD, Department of Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine, CUPB). As a research scholar, Abhilash worked on the evaluation of genetic variations involved in the Mean Platelet volume (MPV) and Platelet count (PLT) in association with the development of ischemic stroke and its subtypes. The outcome of the study is a step forward in establishing Mean Platelet Volume as a diagnostic or prognostic marker for Ischemic Stroke. During Ph.D., Abhilash has published a total of 18 research papers and 3 book chapters including 1 research paper with 20 Impact Factor.

On this occasion, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, congratulated Dr. Abhilash Ludhiadch for bringing laurels to the university.
