Central University of Punjab organizes Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Workshop for students and employees

The IQAC and NSS Cell of Central University of Punjab in collaboration with the Department of Community and Family Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, successfully conducted a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Program for students, employees and security persons. It is an initiative of American Hearts Association (AHA) to train volunteers in lifesaving techniques.

Bathinda, December 20, 2023: The IQAC and NSS Cell of Central University of Punjab in collaboration with the Department of Community and Family Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, successfully conducted a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Program for students, employees and security persons. It is an initiative of American Hearts Association (AHA) to train volunteers in lifesaving techniques.

The AIIMS Bathinda Medical Team led the programme, emphasizing the critical role of CPR in saving lives during cardiac emergencies. After this, a hands-on training on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) was provided by a team of physicians and nursing staff of AIIMS Bathinda Medical Team under the supervision of Dr. Pravin Pisudde, Department of Community and Family Medicine. The training covered adult CPR, Child CPR, and infant CPR, along with its guidelines and management. Over 200 participants, including security personnel, faculty, staff and students, took part in the hands-on training session.

The workshop's primary objective was to empower students, faculty, and staff with basic life-saving BLS knowledge and CPR skills, including bleeding management.

Dr. Monisha Dhiman, Director of IQAC, expressed gratitude to the AIIMS Bathinda Medical Team for their dedication to advancing basic life support in the community and serving the nation.

Prof. Sanjeev Thakur, Dean Student Welfare, Dean Student Welfare, extended thanks to all participants, acknowledging their crucial role in the success of the program.
