Chandigarh, May 21, 2026: Panjab University, Chandigarh’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) today organised its 10th Annual Convocation along with the 50th Annual Prize-Giving Function for the academic session 2024–25.
As many as 135 students from Faculties of Arts, Languages, Commerce & Management, Science, Library Science and Education received degrees and prizes during the prestigious ceremony.
The CDOE Annual Convocation and the Annual Prize-Giving Function commenced with the presentation of the Annual Report by the Director, CDOE, Prof. Harsh Gandhar, who highlighted the institution’s multidisciplinary growth, academic vibrancy, and significant achievements during the session.
Delivering the Convocation Address, Vice Chancellor of Gurugram University, Haryana Prof. Sanjay Kaushik reflected on how academic accomplishment also brings social and ethical responsibility. He urged parents to provide children with creative and existential freedom so they may grow into self-aware individuals with clarity regarding their lives and careers.
PU Dean of University Instructions Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to embrace future opportunities with confidence and determination.
A major highlight of the event was the release of the book Citizens’ Charter and the Right to Service in India: Foundations of Citizen-Centric Governance in District Administration authored by Dr. Anil Kumar, who shared the key concerns and insights explored in the publication.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Yojna Rawat, Former DUI, appreciated the perseverance and hard work of the students and encouraged them to remain nationally and globally aware citizens.
The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Sheena Pal.
