Capt Sandhu condemns Majithia for trying

Dakha, October 18, 2019: Congress candidate from Dakha assembly segment Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu today lashed out at the Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia for trying to intimidate the police officials ahead of the polling day.
“Your theatrics have outlived their importance, you better don’t try to intimidate the police and other officials”, Capt Sandhu warned Majithia telling him that he should accept the fact that he is no longer in the government and intimidating tactics will not work in the Congress government.
Condemning Majithia for storming a police station here, Capt Sandhu said, this was clear act of wanton hooliganism aimed at threatening and intimidating the police officers who are lawfully performing their duties.
“I understand your desperation and frustration as the ground has already slipped beneath your feet, but that does not mean you out your frustration at the police and government officials”, he told the Akali leader while advising him, “political and electoral battles are best fought politically and electorally and not with threats and intimidation”.
The Congress candidate assured the officials that they must perform their duties while strictly following the guidelines of the Election Commission. “I as a member of the ruling party, assure you that I will not let anyone harm you or intimidate you”, he assured the officials.
Capt Sandhu also criticized Manpreet Singh Ayali for obstructing the police officials from performing their duties. Referring to a video being circulated on the social media groups by Ayali, where he is preventing police officials from arresting an accused, he said, “elections provide no immunity to the criminals and law should be allowed to take its own course”. He wondered as why was Ayali banking upon the support of the criminals and anti-social elements instead of the common voters.
