Cabinet Minister laid down the foundation stone for the upgradation of the road
Ferozepur: Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Monday laid the foundation stone for the up-gradation of the road from Village Khosa Dal Singh to Talwandi Bhai in this borer district today. On this occasion Singla said all the link roads of the state will be renovated at war footing level by March 2019 for which Rs.2000 crores will be spent. He said that the state government is committed to provide better road facility to the people of Punjab. He said that the state government will construct the roads measuring 20,000 kms with a cost of Rs. 1200 cr. during the year 2018-19. “Under the NABBARD the tenders of 71 roads of the state have been invited besides Rs. 5.25 Cr. have been sanctioned for the repair and construction of roads under central road funds. PWD department is also spending Rs. 400 cr for the construction of new roads”, said Singla. Kulbir Singh Zira, MLA Zira said that the repair work of Zira bypass and other roads will also be started very soon.
