By showing inked fingers, all voters to get 25% discount on meals at selected hotels/restaurants on poll day (June 1)

With the sincere efforts being made by the district administration to encourage voters to exercise their right to vote on polling day (June 1), several hotels and restaurants in Ludhiana have decided to offer a 25% discount on lunch and dinner to voters with inked fingers.

Ludhiana, May 23, 2024: With the sincere efforts being made by the district administration to encourage voters to exercise their right to vote on polling day (June 1), several hotels and restaurants in Ludhiana have decided to offer a 25% discount on lunch and dinner to voters with inked fingers.

Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen, while presiding over a meeting with the hotel and restaurant owners, stated that this initiative would encourage more voters to come out on June 1. The district administration aims to achieve a voter turnout of 70% in the Lok Sabha elections-2024. Assistant Commissioner (UT) Kritika Goyal was also present in the meeting. 

There are a total of 2694622 voters, including 1435624 males, 1258847 females, and 151 third genders in the district. This initiative by the hotel and restaurant owners will prove helpful in ensuring active voter participation in the elections.

On June 1, 2024, after voting on polling day, all voters will be able to avail a 25% discount on lunch or dinner at selected hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bakeries by showing their inked finger. Thei participating establishments include Underdoggs, Buvit, Blaasé, MBD Mall, Hotel Five Rivers, Iron Chef, Pirates of Grill, Enchanted Woods Club Limited, Majestic Hotels Park Plaza, Gola Sizzlers Ludhiana, Studio Xo Bar, Cafe Olio, Silver Arc Mall, Paragon Waterfront, The Beer Café, Hyatt Regency, Pyramid Café, Hotel Z Grand, Malhotra Regency, Radisson Blu Hotel, Las Vegas, Palm Court, Cafe Delhi Heights, A Hotel, Younger Bar, GSB Hospitality Private Limited, and others.

ADC Sareen mentioned that these hotels, restaurants, and malls would also help the administration in raising voter awareness through posters, hoardings, and banners. The administration would facilitate their efforts in joining hands with the administration for voter awareness.
