Chandigarh, October 27, 2015: Blue Dart Express Ltd., South Asia's premier express air and integrated transportation and distribution company, today inaugurated a Central Processing Unit (CPU) and hub in two different parts of Jaipur. Sukhwinder Singh, Regional Head – North, Blue Dart Express Ltd. and Ketan Kulkarni, Head – Marketing, Corporate Communications and Sustainability, Blue Dart Express Ltd. inaugurated the two facilities located at New Aatish Market and at Sikar Road respectively.
Rajasthan ranks number six in India on World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ index according to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion's (DIPP) report on "Assessment of State Implementation of Business Reforms". Jaipur is home to several industries, SEZs and IT/ITeS parks. Along with Delhi and Agra, Jaipur forms the Golden Triangle of Indian tourism, hence the government has robust plans for investments in infrastructure and PPP projects in the pink city.
Commenting on the launch Sukhwinder Singh, Regional Head - North, Blue Dart Express Ltd. said “Besides being the capital, Jaipur is the control point of Rajasthan. The city has been a focus area for the Government and has attracted good investment in various sectors. The opening of our facilities in Jaipur will support the growth of the city’s economic activity as we offer high quality services and convenience to our customers”.
Ketan Kulkarni, Head – Marketing, Corporate Communications and Sustainability, Blue Dart Express Ltd. adds “The new facilities at Jaipur manifests Blue Dart’s commitment to partner the city in its growth endeavours by providing superior logistics solutions to the businesses present here. Our plans to strengthen our footprint in Jaipur are in line with the company’s strategic focus on the e-tailing industry which is projected to grow at 52% CAGR from 2014 to 2020. The sector has been witnessing phenomenal demand especially from emerging cities like Jaipur”.
The Sikar Road hub will also function as a Service Center (JVK) which delivers inbound load to Jaipur and to its adjoining areas. The Jaipur hub functions as an inbound as well as outbound station to Jaipur and the rest of Rajasthan. It acts as a facility for process distribution as well. The 28,000 square-foot hub is just ten kilometres away from the highway and functions for the entire state to enable faster connectivity to the rest of the country.
The Central Processing Unit is a 3000 square-foot facility where vertical expansion has made it possible to handle increased volumes. It is located amidst the SMEs, producing various commodities to be bought by customers in close proximity to Jaipur Airport in the New Atish Market locality which is strategically connected to areas like Sitapura, Mansarovar, Vaishali Nagar, Mirza Ismail Road, Tonk Road. All these areas are witnessing growth in SMEs and the retail businesses.
All major E-tail players have established their major units/warehouses/fulfilment centres in Jaipur. It has helped SMEs and small retailers who are keen to do business online. Jaipur also falls into the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Influence.
Blue Dart was recently featured in the Fortune 500 list of India’s largest corporations, listed as one of India’s Super 50 Companies by Forbes India, was ranked among the top 500 non-financial corporations in India in the BW Real 500, a study conducted by Business World and KPMG, the Blue Dart ranking improved to 302 from 421 in 2014 and was ranked at 116 in Business Today’s BT 500 – India’s Most Valuable Companies.
