BJP should change HPSC's name to GHPSC (Gair-Haryanvi Public Service Commission): Former CM Hooda
Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the BJP government, which is adept at changing names, should also change the name of the HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission to GHPSC (Gair-Haryanvi Public Service Commission) because this institution is deliberately giving Haryana's jobs to people from other states and is conspiring to deprive Haryana's youth of high-ranking positions by keeping HPSC posts vacant.
Chandigarh, February 7, 2026: Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that the BJP government, which is adept at changing names, should also change the name of the HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission to GHPSC (Gair-Haryanvi Public Service Commission) because this institution is deliberately giving Haryana's jobs to people from other states and is conspiring to deprive Haryana's youth of high-ranking positions by keeping HPSC posts vacant.
Hooda said the HPSC has now become a rejection commission instead of a selection commission. For the past 11 years, the BJP government has been cheating the youth of Haryana in the name of recruitment. The Haryana government canceled the recruitment process for 100 posts of Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) in the Agriculture Department after three and a half years.
Giving an example, Hooda said after years of waiting, the result for the recruitment of 1711 PGT Computer Science posts was declared by the HPSC, but only 39 candidates passed, while the remaining 1672 posts will remain vacant. Many posts have been kept vacant in numerous recruitments before as well. The HPSC has actually become a Gair-Haryanvi Public Service Commission instead of the Haryana Public Service Commission, because most of the selections are of candidates from outside the state.
He added that the youth of Haryana are clearing UPSC and other major competitive examinations, but the HPSC is deliberately disqualifying them in its examinations as part of a well-planned conspiracy. The question is, are the youth of Haryana so incompetent that they cannot even score enough marks to pass the recruitment exam? The youth of Haryana are becoming IAS and IPS officers.
“The Chief Justice of the country's Supreme Court is from Haryana. We are hoisting the flag of our state's pride everywhere, so why is it that they are failing in the eyes of the HPSC? It is surprising that our children from Haryana, who are NET and JRF toppers, university gold medalists, and have been working in high-ranking positions for many years, are unable to score even 35 percent marks in the HPSC Assistant Professor exam,” he said.
Hooda mentioned that the BJP government has played similar games in several recruitment processes before. Recently, in the recruitment for English Assistant Professors, there were a total of 613 posts, but only 151 candidates were called for interviews. This means that the government has effectively eliminated the recruitment for all categories: General, SC, OBC, and EWS.
Even before this, a large number of posts have been kept vacant in various recruitments. For example, in the HCS Ex BR recruitment, only 61 out of 100 posts were filled, leaving 39 vacant. Similarly, in the recruitment for 600 ADO Agriculture posts, only 50 were filled, leaving 550 vacant. In the recruitment for 80 PGT Music posts, only 25 were filled, leaving 55 vacant.
Out of 287 PGT Political Science posts, 192 were filled and 95 remained vacant. Out of 61 Lecturer Electrical posts, 40 were filled and 21 remained vacant. Out of 44 Lecturer Computer Engineering posts, 34 were filled and 10 remained vacant. Out of 17 Lecturer Instrument posts, 8 were filled and 9 remained vacant. In the recruitment for 1325 PGT Physical Education and Fine Arts posts, only 642 were filled, while 683 remained vacant.
Former CM Hooda demanded that the HPSC Chairman be immediately dismissed and a Haryanvi be appointed as the Chairman. He also demanded that the HPSC be dissolved, an impartial inquiry be conducted into all recruitment scams, and action be taken against those found guilty.
