He issued these instructions while inspecting the repair and renovation works along with officers of the Health Department.
The Deputy Commissioner asked officials of the PWD, Haryana and the Health Department to work in close coordination and prepare a priority-based list of works, clearly identifying activities to be taken up immediately and those to follow later. He specifically directed that ICU-related works be completed first, as they are directly linked to facilities for critically ill patients, adding that most of the ICU renovation has already been completed.
During the inspection, the DC also reviewed roof-repair works and inspected private wards, operation theatres, Mother & Child Health Care units, OPD areas and toilets, issuing on-the-spot directions wherever required.
Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Civil Hospital’s infrastructure is being strengthened with a focus on providing patients with safe, modern and comfortable facilities. He informed that the State Government has released nearly ₹5 crore for the hospital’s upgradation, with works underway for the past three months and nearing completion.
Referring to the directions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Deputy Commissioner said that government hospitals are being upgraded to offer services on par with quality private healthcare institutions. He detailed that, as per approved budgets, more than ₹4.57 crore is being spent on special repair works, ₹55 lakh on ICU renovation, ₹2.15 crore on installation of a fire-fighting system and over ₹20.48 lakh on replacement of faulty VCB equipment.
Once completed, the upgraded hospital will provide better, safer and more advanced healthcare services to patients across the district, he added. CMO Dr. Pushpender, Building In-charge Dr. Madhulika, Nodal Officer Dr. Tarun and other officials were present during the inspection.
