Rohtak, October 26, 2026: BJP state president Dr Archana Gupta on Monday led a protest march in Rohtak against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s alleged objectionable remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late father, demanding a response from Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
The march began at the BJP Lok Sabha office in Kishanpura and culminated at Shri Ram Sharma Park near the bus stand, where party workers raised slogans against the Congress.
Dr Gupta said political differences did not justify insulting a deceased family member and stressed that public discourse must adhere to basic standards of dignity. “Political opposition should be based on policies, ideas and performance, not personal attacks,” she said.
Accusing Kharge’s remarks of reflecting the Congress leadership’s political culture, Gupta asked Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to clarify their stand on the issue.
She said Modi had dedicated the past 25 years of his public life to public service and good governance, adding that the government’s focus under his leadership remained on the welfare of youth, women, farmers and the poor.
Dr Gupta urged the Congress to engage in fact-based discussions on government policies and performance, saying personal attacks neither addressed public concerns nor improved the quality of political discourse.
BJP state vice-president Jawahar Saini, state general secretary Ved Phulla, former minister Manish Grover, state media co-incharge Shamsher Kharak and several other party office-bearers and workers attended the protest.
